The mayor of Sacramento Kevin Johnson will not seek re-election, so he announced through a statement that spread on his Twitter account Tuesday night.
In the statement Johnson does not refer to any of the scandals that afflict him as reasons for not running, on the contrary he argues that “after an internal search” he has decided not to seek re-election.
“It was a difficult decision, but I feel confident about it,” he said in the statement. In addition to pointing out that it is not a game of interests for another job or better position.
