A shooter murdered 12 individuals and harmed four others in a Virginia municipal building, in the most recent mass shooting to disturb the United States. Experts said an employee opened fire and shot “aimlessly” Friday evening in a Virginia Beach city building that houses a few city offices.
Four cops reacted to the scene and drew in a “longterm gun battle” with the suspect, who was equipped with a 45 caliber handgun with extended magazines and a sound silencer, police said. The suspect was a long-term employee of the public utility office, as indicated by experts. He died at the scene. Police have found the suspect however have not yet released his name to the public since they have not yet told his family.
Injured people were found on every one of the three floors of the structure, just as one unfortunate casualty who was shot and murdered in a vehicle before the injured individual entered the building. Six unfortunate casualties were transported to clinics, including one officer who was protected by his bulletproof vest.
The shooting sent shockwaves through Virginia Beach, the state’s biggest city and a well known get-away spot in south-eastern Virginia situated on the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay.
The FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and the Virginia state police are assisting with the investigation of the same.
